Curious to know how to make 200 dollars in one day? Read on to find 22 different ways to accomplish your goal!

1. Become a pet sitter with Rover

Becoming a DoorDash driver can be an especially lucrative opportunity right now because of how much people love ordering take-outs.

DoorDash is an online food ordering and food delivery service platform. Of course, they will need people to help their customers pick up food orders and deliver them to their houses. As a DoorDash driver, you can set your own time and your own goals, and be your own boss.

Of course, DoorDash is only one of the many food delivery service platforms out there. Platforms like UberEats and SkipTheDishes also need motivated individuals like you to help their customers!

3. Participate in market research

Here are some of my favourite market research sites:

InboxDollars is one of the pioneering sites in the online rewards genre. In addition to paid surveys, InboxDollars also offers many other earning opportunities. You can play games, watch videos, and answer short opinion polls to earn points and redeem them for cash or gift cards. Sign up here for InboxDollars.

The app will transfer points into your online account as soon as you complete your first survey. You can then redeem your points for cash via PayPal or gift cards instantly.

Swagbucks is another popular option when it comes to the question “how to make 200 dollars in one day”. You can earn points, called SBs, by completing short tasks. The tasks include shopping at your favourite store, searching the web, answering surveys, watching videos, or playing games.

The payouts of the tasks differ based on the difficulty of the tasks. You can then use the points to redeem for retailer gift cards or cash via PayPal.

4. Use a cashback app

Shopping is an integral part of our lives. Why not earn some cashback with your regular shopping trips, either online or in-store? There are many cashback sites and apps out there that you can take advantage of. If you time your purchases carefully, perhaps with promotions, it is possible to make an extra $200 in a day!

Here are some of my favourite cashback options:

The Drop app is one of my favourite cashback rewards platforms. For every single purchase that you make through Drop, you get a discount!Drop has more than 2,500 stores from a wide array of categories listed, including many well-known brands like Amazon and Starbucks.

Rakuten, formally known as Ebates, is another popular online cash-back shopping site in Canada and the US.

Using Rakuten is very simple. All you need to remember is that if you want to make an online purchase, you go to Rakuten’s website first, from where you select the desired merchant. Rakuten will then automatically redirect you to the merchant’s official website.

Rakuten has more than 2,500 stores from a wide array of categories listed, including many well-known brands like Dell, Walmart, Chapter-Indigo, and Amazon.

Looking for an easy way to earn some cash-back and discounts while you shop online? Honey is the answer for you. Honey is a browser extension that can easily help you find coupons online. It also automatically helps you apply the coupons to your purchases so you can always get the best deals!

5. Use a cash-back credit card

Using a cash-back credit card is probably one of the oldest ways to earning some money back while you shop. Even better, you should use a cash-back credit card to pay for purchases made through the above channels to get double the reward!

If you are looking for a Canadian credit card, you may want to consider signing up for the no-fee Tangerine Money-Back credit card. It is my primary credit card that offers cash-back on every purchase, including 2% for three categories of your choice. I use the card on a daily basis, and I cannot recommend it enough.

Of course, no matter which method you choose to adopt, remember to always be a responsible shopper and do not spend beyond your means!

6. Get a job

If you want to make $200 in a day, well, you can go the traditional route and get a job. Assume that you work 8 hours a day, then to make 200 dollars, you will need to find a job that pays $200/8 = $25 an hour. It is possible to accomplish this by freelancing on sites like DoorDash as a driver or Rover as a pet sitter or dog walker, but it is also possible to get an office job that pays at least $25 an hour.

7. Create a blog

If you enjoy writing like me, you may want to start a blog. I initially started this blog out of pure interest, but as time goes by, I have started generating a healthy side income from ads (I joined ezoic ad network), affiliate marketing(I see the best results from Aragon Premium), sponsorships, freelance writing opportunities, and more.

One nice thing I love about blogging is that it doesn’t take a lot of capital to start. You could select a free platform

Here are the blogging tools I use:

  • Bluehost: perfect for beginners who want to upgrade from a free platform (so you can start monetizing) but who also want to minimize spending. Check out my Bluehost review to see why I chose it as my first hosting company. Sign up for Bluehost here.
  • NameSilo: One of the most economical registrar and hosting companies out there. I stumbled upon this company and have been very happy with the service. It is my current registrar. Use promo code “bellawanana” at check out to get a special discount! Sign up for NameSilo here.
  • SiteGround: This is my current hosting company. It is more expensive than Bluehost, but I like it for its SiteGround optimizer plugin, the free email accounts, and the better speed with my site. Sign up for SiteGround here.
  • Ezoic: This is the ad network I have joined. It pays quite a bit better than Google AdSense. Sign up for ezoic here.

8. Generate income from affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing is the process by which an affiliate (aka, you) earns a commission for marketing another person’s or company’s products. If you enjoy a certain product and service, it doesn’t hurt to let more people know about them, and get paid at the same time, right?

Of course, because you are recommending a certain product or service, you want to first make sure that the product or service is actually of real value to your readers. After all, you do not want to be associated with a product that is of poor quality. It will hurt your reputation in the long run.

Affiliate marketing is perfect for people who are looking to start making money online at home as a beginner because you do not need a lot of upfront investment and effort to make a product or service. This is one of my very first streams of income from my blog, and I encourage you to do the same!

9. Create your own product

Of course, the next level up from affiliate marketing is to create your own product or service online. Creating your own product can be extremely lucrative — you certainly have the potential to make more than 200 dollars in one day! However, creating your own product requires more time and effort. I recommend that you wait until you have a reasonably-sized following before jumping onto this bandwagon.

10. Sponsorship deals

Sponsorship deals can be lucrative. After all, this is how traditional celebrities make their big bucks! With the growing popularity of e-commerce and social media platforms, however, sponsorship deals have also become accessible for people like us who don’t necessarily work in the entertainment business or have millions of followers. Brands have gradually recognized the value of nano-influencers and micro-influencers, and are willing to pay for the work.

As a blogger, I am surprised at how many emails I get from marketing agencies and firms for sponsorships. Just in case you are curious, it took me about a year of blogging to start getting these requests on a semi-regular basis.

11. Investing

The best way to make money from the money you already have is through investing. The average stock market return is about 10%. To earn $200 in a day, you will need a portfolio of about $750,000. This may seem to be a big number, but it is certainly within reach with discipline.

Of course, a tree does not become a tree without a seed first. We all have to start somewhere. If you are looking to make your first $1 from investing your money, you should consider a micro-investing app like Acorns. Check out my Acorns review to learn more!

12. Earn money from dividends

Earning money from dividends is a sub-category in investing. Dividends are a distribution of profits by a corporation to its shareholders. This is a more advanced technique on the list and requires that you already have a solid financial foundation. Assume a 4% dividend rate and no compounding, you will need a portfolio of at least 1.8 million to earn $200 a day purely from dividends.

13. Work as a virtual assistant

14. Become a tutor

Do you have an advanced degree, or are you especially good at something, like playing an instrument, or singing? If so, consider tutoring!

With the competition among students rising, parents are always looking for opportunities to help their kids gain an edge in school. Tutors are, therefore, in demand.

According to ZipRecruiter, the average salary for a private tutor is $22/hour. This means that with 9 hours of work, you can achieve your goal of making 200 dollars in a day. Of course, this is just the average. If you graduated from a top school, or if you have plenty of experience, you can charge well over $100 an hour.

15. Become a freelancer

There are many freelancing platforms nowadays. The top ones that come to mind are Fiverr and Upwork. There are a plethora of gigs on there. According to Fiverr’s site stats, a gig is bought every 4 seconds, which speaks to the volume of work available. Don’t be shy and try it out! If you put in the work, you can very well reach that 200 dollars a day goal of yours fast.

If you are a freelancer working on a big project but need some small help to get the project done faster and more efficiently, you may also consider becoming a buyer on Fiverr. It can save you a ton of time. Check it out here!

16. Open an Etsy shop

17. Reduce your expenses

If you are thinking about making 200 dollars in one day, why not think about the flip side: saving 200 dollars in one day? Reducing your expenses only involves you and your ability to find creative ways to live frugally. By simply sitting down and going through your expenses for a few hours, you could reduce your expenses by 200 dollars in one day!

Some categories where you can find the most savings from your budget include:

If you are looking to reduce your expenses, you may want to go through my best frugal living tips!

18. Sell your stuff

Selling your stuff is the perfect way to make some quick money while decluttering your space. It can be a great and lucrative way to generate some serious cash.

If you want to sell fashion products, Poshmark also may be a good choice for you. Keep in mind though, that you are there to earn extra money, not to buy more clothing and accessories!

Of course, you can also host a garage sale!

19. Rent out your space or your car

This one is in the same vein as the suggestions above, in that you are generating some money using what you already have. Once you have it going, it is an easy way to make some passive income.

Here are some questions to ask yourself before you decide whether you should rent out your space or your car:

  • Are you comfortable renting out your space or car?
  • Do you have extra space to rent out?
  • Are you willing to spend some time and money on preparing the space and car for rent?

20. Flip items

There are two ways you can go about flipping items. You can either purchase one at a low price and sell it for a higher price, or you can purchase one at a lower price, upgrade it, and then sell it for a higher price.

The philosophy of Instacart is simple. It is a grocery delivery service, and they require people to help their customers pick up groceries from stores and deliver them to their houses. There are two types of jobs available:

Full-service shopper

Benefits:

  • It offers the most flexibility. You can work as little or as often as you want. The amount you earn, however, obviously is correlated with how much work you do. The earning depends on the number of items, type of items, driving distance, and effort involved in shopping and delivering.
  • You keep 100% of customers’ tips!

In-store shopper

These are Instacart employees who, among other things, shop and stage orders in one store at a time. These part-time shoppers work scheduled shifts, up to 29 hours per week.

Benefits:

  • No car is required for this role.
  • You earn an hourly wage, which provides more stability.

Another really nice bonus of working for Instacart is that you become eligible for their referral bonus. That means that every time you refer someone to shop with Instacart, you get some extra cash in your pocket.

How much money can you make being an Instacart shopper?

You can earn an hourly rate of $17.14 as a full-service shopper, and around $13.39 as an in-store shopper. Not too bad, isn’t it!

22. Earn money while losing weight with HealthyWage

It takes a ton of hard work and dedication to shed a few pounds. However, if you already want to lose weight, why not gamify the process and use HealthyWage?

Of course, keep in mind that you should lose weight in a healthy manner. Never go to the extremes to win prize money. It is never worth it.

Conclusion

There you have it, my best ways to make 200 dollars in one day. If you are serious about making money fast, you should definitely give at least a few of the options above a try.
